Memories long forgotten
People in pictures, frozen in time
Names forgotten, features faded
Dazed expressions mix with mine
In these pictures they exist
In my world thats where they are
In their lives they live elsewhere
Somewhere away from here, far.
I'll probably never sense them again
Never hear their sweet voices speak
Never see their shadows pass over a park lawn
They existed when I was young and meek
I'm not that way anymore
And they no longer come and go
They pass by freely without a thought
That I was someone they used to know.
Do you still remember my face?
Do you remember my complete lack of grace?
Do you remember how I'd trip and fall?
How my total lack in height was still thought of as tall?
When days run together like drops of water,
When days blend smoothly into time's plans
Days that stand out will forever be remembered
But what about regular days, regular lands?
Those space fillers, those regular moments
Are they just there to take up time,
Just there to waste away another hour?
To be silent as a mime when days turn to seconds?
What about these people that you knew?
For hours, for moments, for seconds, for years?
Are they a momental amusement?
Were these lost friends worth shed tears?
Were we meant not to know each other,
If we were just to forget we ever met?
Were we meant to have faces blur before our eyes,
Or were these people of our memories to be kept?
Did I ever truely know you,
Since I was meant to let you go?
Did I ever truely mean anything,
If it was you my memories would never show?
